SQL Formatter

Turn one-line SQL into a readable, clause-per-line query.

How it works

Major clauses such as SELECT, FROM, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY, and ORDER BY are moved onto their own lines, list items are indented, and keywords are uppercased so the shape of the query is obvious at a glance.

Frequently asked questions

Which SQL dialects work?

The formatter is dialect-agnostic — it only reformats keywords and whitespace, so Postgres, MySQL, SQLite, and SQL Server queries all work.

Does it validate my query?

No. This is a formatter, not a parser, so it will happily format a query that your database would reject.
