How it works
Both inputs are split into lines and matched with a longest-common-subsequence diff, the same approach version control uses. Unchanged lines are dimmed, removals are marked in red, and additions in green.

Frequently asked questions
Can it ignore whitespace?
Yes — enable the trim option to compare lines with leading and trailing whitespace removed.
Is there a size limit?
Very large files may be slow because the diff is computed in the page, but a few thousand lines compares instantly.
