How it works
Words are drawn from a fixed list using the browser's cryptographic random generator, so entropy is the base-2 logarithm of list size raised to the number of words — four words already beat most typed passwords.
Frequently asked questions
Why are passphrases stronger?
Length dominates entropy. Four random words are far harder to brute force than an eight-character mixed-case password, and far easier to remember.
Is the passphrase sent anywhere?
No. It is generated locally and never leaves your device.
