    How it works

Drop in a PDF and the built-in reader walks every page, reads its text layer and joins the words back into readable lines. Choose whether to keep page separators. Scanned PDFs that are just photos of paper have no text layer, so they return nothing — those need OCR.

    Examples

    Split a report1-4, 5-9, 10-12 → three PDFs
Burst a scanEvery page separately → page-by-page PDFs

    Frequently asked questions

    Why is my result empty?

The PDF is most likely a scan — an image of a page with no text layer. Extraction can only read real text.

    Does it keep the layout?

It keeps reading order and line breaks, not columns and tables exactly. For structured data, extract and then tidy in a spreadsheet.

Can I extract just a few pages?

Yes — set a page range such as 2-5 before extracting.
